Visas for Brazil

  There are 7 different types of visas issued by the Brazilian Government:

  1. Transit
  2. Tourism
  3. Courtesy
  4. Official
  5. Diplomatic
  6. Temporary
  7. Permanent
  There are two types of visas for those who want to do business or work in Brazil:
  1. Temporary
  2. Permanent
 

TEMPORARY VISA

  • For trainees
  • For journalists, TV and filming crews, and professional photo shoots
  • To work in project of international cooperation
  • For executives, scientists, teachers, technicians and others with professional qualification, under contract or working for a company in Brazil, or for the Brazilian Government
  • For teachers, researchers or highly qualified scientists
  • For professionals in the entertainment business or athletes
 

PERMANENT VISAS

 
  • For investors, managers or directors of the company;
  • For foreigners who intend to live in Brazil and invest foreign capital in productive activities, employing or training and qualifying workers;
  • For researchers or highly qualified specialists;
  • For retired foreigners (over 50 years-old), if they transfer at least US$ 2,000.00 a month for their maintenance in Brazil;
  • For a foreigner married to a Brazilian citizen;
  • For foreign parent(s) of a Brazilian child.
